I have bought a new pot of parsley to transplant.

I have not had such great luck with a Christmas rose, donated by my mum.

A very clever gardener has told me the rose is a gonner. He suggested I should have used a plastic bag and a rubber band to keep in the moisture.
I'll try that on the bean and keep you posted on progress.
NEXT WEEK: I have bought pumpkin and sunflower seeds for a competition with sons 2 and 3. Keep reading for progress.

Go to Wyevale (other garden centres are available) and buy a thriving version of shrivelled plant?
I still haven't been to Wyevale and really must. Do they have a coffee shop?
Wyevale had a very nice coffee shop. Also top tip - you can take your plastic plant pots there for recycling.
oooh, they do lovely coffee. Cappuccino for me as their lattes come in a glass which I don't like!
I can't really be doing with milk in my coffee - it's like putting sugar in tea, changes the flavour completely. Fussy old thing. Will go and check it out - cycled past it yesterday on a mammoth trip from Bury to Whelnetham, Rougham and back. Phew - and just missed the hailstones as I was haring back up Mount Road AFAMBLWCM (as fast as my big legs would carry me).
